A Little Bit About Me
Fairness, equity, honesty and kindness are at the heart of everything I do.
As an experienced Child & Educational Psychologist and EMDR Therapist based in Scotland, I offer supportive services across the UK with over 7 years of experience in local authority schools. I understand the challenges parents face when concerned about their child's well-being and development and aim to provide accessible support without lengthy waiting times. I'm dedicated to intervening early for children and young people struggling with learning, mental health, relationships, and behavior. With chartered psychologist status and memberships in key professional bodies, I utilize a range of assessments, therapies, and approaches to inform interventions and support flourishing.

EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY APPROACH
Fairness, equity, honesty and kindness are at the heart of everything I do.

My approach to understanding and supporting children's needs is holistic and compassionate, which is incredibly valuable in educational psychology. By focusing on the whole story of each child or young person, you can uncover the unique factors influencing their learning and well-being. This perspective allows you to move beyond mere diagnosis and address the individual barriers they face.

Creating a safe and therapeutic space for children and young people to share their experiences is crucial for building trust and understanding. By exploring their stories and past experiences, you can gain insights into the root causes of their difficulties and tailor your support accordingly. Your emphasis on compassion and using techniques to reduce traumatic distress demonstrates a deep commitment to promoting emotional well-being and resilience.

By integrating your understanding of psychology with a focus on education and development, you're able to provide comprehensive support that addresses the complex interplay of factors shaping each child's experience. Your dedication to helping children and young people feel understood and supported is inspiring and undoubtedly makes a significant difference in their lives.
